Benefit Concerts: 3 Charity Fundraising Tips

One benefit concert in Roy, Utah, for instance, helped raise funds to save the life of Grace Hinds, a 9-year-old girl with an unusual—and costly—medical condition. Grace got infected with a virus that caused her immune system to attack her own body instead of fighting off the illness. For three years, Grace had to endure several trips to the hospital and a gruesome recovery. Since Grace still requires medication and weekly infusions to boost her immunity, her family partnered with the Rainbow Saloon to hold a fundraising concert and raffle. The local community, including musicians and the family’s friends and neighbors, gathered at the local dive bar for the all-day event last September.

A Guide to Merry Online Charity Auctions This Holiday

For instance, you can reconnect your donors with the stories that appealed to them before. You can also create a “Why Donate” page to show how valuable your cause is and evoke a positive response from individuals who come across it. To make the process even more convenient for donors, be sure to optimize your site by adding a well-placed “Donate” button on. This effective holiday fundraising strategy requires little time to put together. Make sure to try your whole donation procedure yourself or ask your team to do so to ensure that the donation process proceeds as smoothly as possible for everyone interested.

Tips for Online Charity Auctions this Christmas

One reason why the organizers wanted a live event was to accommodate the bid party and potluck luncheon they intend to hold at the auction. While their plans may inspire you to host a similar event, a live auction is by no means the only fundraising activity worth considering this Christmas. We at eBay Giving Works can help you reach your holiday fundraising goals by helping you organize online charity auctions. If you neither have the resources nor the time to organize a silent auction at an actual venue, then an online auction would make sense indeed.

Office Fundraising Ideas

With rooms full of adults with disposable income, the office is one of the best places to organize a simple fundraiser to benefit a local nonprofit. At the same time, fundraising events in the office is a great way to build camaraderie among co-workers, especially between departments that do not interact with each other often. With that in mind, here are a few fundraising ideas you can try out in your office:

Poker Tournament

Do co-workers brag about being the next Phil Ivey or Liv Boeree? Test everyone’s poker chops by organizing a poker tournament for the company. Consider setting a $100-$500 buy in, with the overall champion winning half the collection while the other half is donated to a nonprofit the office supports.

Ducky Tie” Contest

Inspired by an episode from “How I Met Your Mother”, this idea involves having employees design silly neckties. The entries are then displayed in a central area for voting. Each vote costs a dollar. Once a winner has been determined, a manager or executive must wear the tie for a month.

Match It Challenge

Do you need an extra shot of inspiration? Ask an executive if the company is willing to match whatever amount you and your co-workers raise. Needless to say, this is a fantastic way to raise a large amount of money quickly.

Rally Support for Your Cause

Every legit fundraiser pretty much supports an actual charitable cause. However, as much as donors want a good cause to succeed, they can only provide so much support. Yet you are more likely to secure people’s support by highlighting the timeliness and relevance of your campaign. Here are a few tactics you can use.

Mind the Awareness Calendar
Every month plays host to a number of cause awareness events. Congress used to delegate which event belongs to a particular month, but only the Senate maintains this practice today. Breast cancer, AIDS, and consumer protection awareness months are put in place by federal proclamations.
