Helping people
sure feels great, but as a college student, you probably don’t have the time to
organize elaborate fundraising events. After all, there’s only so many hours in
a day for your studies and extracurricular activities (or maybe even a
part-time job). Fortunately, we have a few simple ideas that will help you
raise money for the causes you believe in:
Mini-Concerts
There are many aspiring rock bands on campus, and
you can invite a few of them to play a mini-benefit concert. Ring up your
favorite local café and ask them if they’re willing to host the event. You can
charge the audience an entrance fee, which you will then donate to charity.
Bachelor/Bachelorette
Auctions
If you belong to a fraternity or sorority, ask your
most eligible members if they’re willing to participate in a bachelor/bachelorette auction. As
the name implies, they’ll go on a once-in-a-lifetime date with the person who
places the highest bid during the auction period.
Sell
Campus Memorabilia
Do you have campus merchandise just laying around
in your dorm room? Then we have good news for you: many people collect such
items as memorabilia! You can list them on the eBay Giving Works program and
donate part or all of the proceeds to one of our partner non-profits.
