The Christmas season may be over, but many people are still living out its spirit well into January. According to a report from the New Jersey Herald, bikers around Ogdensburg braved the freezing weather to attend a fundraiser on the first day of the new year.

You can also start the new year generously by staging your own fundraiser. A simple way of doing this is would be to organize a live charity auction. There are even ways you can spice it up and draw more support.

Add an extra layer of suspense by auctioning off several sealed boxes with various prizes inside. To generate further interest in the mystery boxes, inform auction attendees of some of the more desirable charity auction items ahead of time.
