Top 2 Sources for Auction Items

Share it Please
Our eBay Giving Works program provides a great opportunity for you to auction great items at great prices and support a noble cause along the way. That being said, it can be a bit tricky to choose items that are guaranteed to get good bids. If you have no idea where to get your auction items, we recommend that you start with these places:

Consignment shops are a great place to look because they usually have many of the best-selling items at today’s auctions, like artworks and celebrity memorabilia. However, keep in mind that you’ll have to pay these shops a percentage of your auction earnings. Alternatively, you can head directly to the source. For instance, if you’re looking to auction sports memorabilia, ask your local sports teams and clubs to donate some of their items.

Wine shops are also a great source of auction items because fine wines, after all, are a great addition to food baskets—which, as you may know, sell rather well in any auction. Don’t just add random items to these baskets, though; keep in mind that fine wine looks infinitely more appealing when thrown in with a bundle of pasta, snacks, and wine glasses. You’ll also have to decorate your food baskets to make them more presentable, which means you’ll need to get your creative juices flowing (or hiring someone else) before the auction.
